Sounds good. Best thing you can do is provide a fully patched version of Vim 7.3 with your installer. Provide a direct link to it. Although GPL is compatible with the Vim license, it also means the whole thing goes under the GPL. It's better to find the author and ask the logo to be released under the Vim license.
