Both. It is the first time I saw a crash in vim, but I can't reproduce it
(sorry),
My vim is 3 months old, and I guess it must be fixed by now.

The feature request was on my wish list for a long time. This would be
more useful feature,  as I used to use that in emacs' query-replace-regexp,
it had more features like recursive-edit, which I can emulate in vim.
