I just tried Christian's patch instead of patch 7.4.523. But it shows the
same behavior of patch 7.4.523. (As I described above.)
These are the steps I took to use Christian's patch.
Since Christian's patch was posted on Oct 8, 2014, I checked out v7_4_463
(Sep 29, 2014).
cd vim
hg checkout v7_4_463
patch -p1 < reconnect_x11.diff
cd src
make distclean
make
make install
