Even though I didn't say it explicitly in my analysis of the three companies, I implied absolutely that due to the investor pressure of the $100M investment
Github could start prioritising their investors (and the image portrayed to
investors) over their traditional business values. A good article about the
incident in question, which happened around March 2014, is on TechCrunch:

It looks like the recent river of money into the company (with which the girl in question was probably hired) is already creating a "toxic culture" and the company hasn't even floated on the stock market yet. After they go public, who
knows what they might do to their core services, regardless of the current
situation.

I agree that Vim, given the choice (and I believe it has a choice) should not indirectly support companies that put profit before the ethics of the services
they provide.
