I would say hg-git is a bit dodgy for day to day use. I've used it to
mirror a few Mercurial repos in github. Unfortunately it doesn't work 100%
transparently and some stuff like tags appear as separate commits in git.
Also I saw a few occurrences when hg-git refused to push changes properly
so I had to fiddle with it.
