Thanks.  I think that the "r" stood for the register name.  But that's
inconsistent with the other text.  Actually, the <C-O> form is also
inconsistent, better use CTRL-R CTRL-O:

                you also want to avoid these, use CTRL-R CTRL-O, see below.
