Woohoo!

I built vim 7.4.1180 with this patch applied on Ubuntu 15.10 (with GTK
3.18 from the gnome3-staging PPA). Seems to work mostly fine, but there
are visual quirks. E.g. there's a strange black area around the window:

It's even worse if I start vim as gvim instead of using :gui:

It seems as if blank cells are not redrawn? Try opening a text file,
then use :help, then close the :help file -- bits of help text will show
through the actual text you're editing:

Ctrl-L doesn't help in that situation.

Similar problems occur in the status line: old text is not cleared away
when you press : and start entering a new command.

Scrolling with PageUp also exhibits this kind of redrawing problem.
Using PageDown clears the screen correctly before drawing.

(BTW also notice the missing scrollbar in the :help split -- it shows up
when you switch to it, but is just a black rectangle initially.)
