Yes! it works really great now, thanks. I don't even need to turn off the 
blinking -the cursor keeps its normal blink pace.

One thing I did notice is when you have 'relativenumber' on in the job's window 
the cursor almost disappears. Well, I don't think that anyone wants this option 
on for this kind of windows, but this leads me to a more general question I 
have for a long time: What is the proper way to create a new scratch buffer 
(and window) -with (almost) all options reset to their default values?
I tried :setlocal all& but it does not seem to be working well and I didn't 
find it in the help.
