using command 'J' you join the current with the next line.

with a number prefix of '1' you'll get the same. no surprise here.
but why is it that "2J" produces the same result as "1J"?

example:
suppose the cursor is on the first line ("one").
and you use commands '1J', '2J', and '3J'.
these are the results:

  commands:   1J          2J          3J
  one         one two     one two     one two three
  two         three       three       four
  three       four        four
  four

what is the rationale here?
