Christian, excellent I am glad I could help. I really like the consequence of my report in this thread that in latest master diff internal is now set as default, so most of the users will not get into the external diff problem at all. The only ones that may get into the problem are the ones that would like to set some external diff program and the ones using external diff program probably have very low need of setting Cygwin diff as external diff program. I am not a vim developer, you should decide if there is need for some action or not. It doesn't effect me anymore.
Maybe the only think that could be improved is to have more detailed info in "verbose" commands, like to see at least some portion of diff output. If we would see this "Cygwin warning" in "verbose" we would not spent so much figuring out what was wrong.
