Dear All,
I refer to the latest versions of these 2 texts found on the web (
https://bitbucket.org/vim-mirror/vim/src/84c427d55b47163977c4a66b8bc2fe00f229f41c/runtime/doc/?at=default
) one or two weeks ago.
I did some detailed work in preparation of a personal work and found that :
options.txt summarizes 397 options (24 Mar 2019)
quickref.txt lists 394 options (17 Feb 2019)
The 3 missing ones are 'altkeymap', 'fkmap' and 'langnoremap'.
I understand these are linked to the Farsi language which isn't supported any
longer.
However, for the sake of completion and coherence, shouldn't these 3 options
appear also in the Q_op list in quickref.txt as they appear in the
option-summary list in options.txt ?
Eventually, adding a note like "Discontinued since version x.y" might help.
Note : this small discrepancy varies very much with the version of the text
files in the documentation. I have many variations of Vim on several machines
(Win, Linux, desktop, sever, ...) and it's no always the same. For instance I
have a quickref.txt on a GVim Windows 7 desktop (Vim 8.1 2018 April 18) and the
discrepancy concerns other options. This is why I did refer to the last version
on the web repository.
In summary is it possible to put a permanent control or check in place so that
the options in 'option-summary' and 'Q_op' are always synchronized ?
Lastly : can I help or assist the documentation team ? if yes, in what way ?
Best regards,
René
