One point I just found out the hard way - don't symlink the Vim from
MacVim to ~/bin or something like that. It messes up the $VIM path.
That's probably easy enough to fix with the right vimrc or env entry,
I just ended up aliasing vi and vim to /Applications/MacVim.app/
Contents/MacOS/Vim.
