You are correct.

But I didn't start having this problem until *AFTER* the update to 
snapshot 37.

That is, before the snapshot, when the file was modified, I noticed Vim 
sort of "pause" a little, and it would warn me if I tried to save, but I 
wouldn't get the GUI dialog.

Now I get the GUI dialog after (nearly?) every change.

Any thoughts as to why Snapshot 37 would change this behavior? I know 
that "Add "Reload"/"Ignore All" buttons to the file changed dialog" is 
listed as one of the new snapshot 37 features.
