If you already saw it in 7.1, you should know by now that every time the
number of patches reaches a round hundred, Bram lumps the latest "full
hundred" into a summary gzipped patch containing 100 individual ones put
end-to-end. That's no recent thing, it's nothing damnable or cursable,
it's just there to help the users, and it's even documented in the
latest README to the patches, at the end of the introduction. It's also
documented similarly in the patches' README for 7.1, 7.0, and every
version which had more that 100 patches -- 6.4 only had 10, 6.3 had 90,
so for these there was no summary patch; but 6.2 had a whopping 532, 6.1
had 474, and 6.0 had 270. OTOH none of the 5.4 to 5.8 releases reached
100 patches. Earlier patches haven't been kept AFAIK.
If you don't want to download that summary patch, just make sure you
only download patches in the form 7.2.??? with nothing after that.
Regards,
Tony.
