I'm not the only one who occasionally posts this link: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html "How To Ask Questions The Smart Way". The Vim lists are, AFAICT, both polite and informative. Let's hope they stay that way. IMHO going out of one's way to favour one of these qualities while dropping the other entirely would in the end make the list totally useless.
