Hello. I have a freshly installed CentOS host with VIM 7.0.237 pre-installed.
When I launch vi (on this host vi is not a soft link to vim), and then try to open a file using the sp command, nothing happens. No error, no file, no nothing. I have searched the faq, tips archive, and mailing list archive, all to no avail. Can anyone help? This must be something simple, no? Thanks! John PS: I don't know if this is relevant (and it's not important to me) but the help command doesn't work either.
