I just installed Vim7.3 and went to tweak my colorscheme for the new ColorColumn feature.
I had an existing highlight group called LineTooLong for a similar feature implemented using matchadd() for v7.2, so I tried adding this at the end of the colorscheme: highlight link ColorColumn LineTooLong It has no effect. I tried manually typing the command afterwards, and get: E414: group has settings, highlight link ignored :verbose highlight ColorColumn says it's set in my colorscheme file, but I have no other mention of ColorColumn in my colorscheme file. I'm currently using a custom colorscheme loosley based on the "pablo" colorscheme, and I noticed that it sets background=dark at the top. I thought maybe this was where it was setting ColorColumn, but commenting out the line had no effect. For now I've just duplicated the settings for LineTooLong, but does anyone know why I cannot simply use hi link for the ColorColumn? Where is this highlight group actually set up? -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist. Do not top-post! Type your reply below the text you are replying to.
