I personally can't make any sense of what you wrote. The .bashrc is not related to Vim in any way. Its also not clear to me where you press 'e'. So from that it looks like you're using an additional editor in which you press 'e' which should read TEXEDIT .. But you didn't talk about it., Are you sure that you provided all info?
