I thought you'd implied that if you commented out the VimLeave auto command the 
bug went away.  If your shell resets the cursor colour, then you wouldn't need 
the auto command.

(Crazy that in 2012 we're still pissing about with escape sequences.  I'm 
presently using $VIMRUNTIME/tools/blink.c to get an adequate blink rate in 
konsole, the terminal emulator in KDE.)
