i did another test following Yukihiro Nakadaira example :set background? background=light :set background=dark :set background? background=dark :hi Normal ctermfg=grey ctermbg=234 :set background? background=light :hi Normal ctermfg=grey ctermbg=0 :set background? background=dark
so it seems &background is changed according to the value of ctermbg. but I'd risk saying it behaves the wrong way, because cterm 234 is indeed a dark grey :p -- -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist.
