   Most of that article is about suppressing excessive change events coming
in because they are interrupting one. Since the file it is monitoring is output only (from a make script), it can't interrupt me too often. It is a GUI version,
so will try moving cursor (simply clicking in the window doesn't force a
reread if vim has recently updated).
