It wasn't the 800k and 400k formats themselves that dropped support, but 
the original MFS filesystem. If you have a HFS 800k floppy, it ought to 
read it fine in anything up to 9.2.2. MFS was limited to read-only in 
7.5 and dropped entirely in 8.0, or some such. Disk Copy can still 
create MFS floppies from MFS 400k images on the later OSes, but the OS 
can't mount the images or disks.
