The Mac host itself is SCSI ID 7. So no device used on a Mac should ever 
be ID 7.

The Mac's internal HD is typically ID 0, so most SCSI Macs with internal 
HDs also shouldn't have 0 used for another device. If it's a 
pre-internal-HD Mac, or an IDE Mac, then ID 0 should be fine to use. I 
generally avoided it for any of mine since I tended to swap my devices 
around a lot.
