2 GB is the limit, and Drive Setup can, indeed, be modified for more  
than 8 partitions (I once modified it for up to 40 partitions), but  
the driver, itself, becomes flaky with more than 16 partitions.

Best to use a third-party program (no, NOT FWB, NEVER FWB) for  
support for more than 8 partitions.
