Hi folks...

About 10 years ago I yanked the hard drive out of my working IIfx and
put her away in the closet. I took her out few weeks ago and decided
I missed her so much, I was going to install a new SCSI 7200 RPM drive
in her and bring her back to life.

The drive arrived (Segate Chetta ST 39204LC) and I installed it. I
took a floppy, disk 1 of my old OS (7.1 I believe) ready to do a
install. But when I plugged in a keyboard, monitor, mouse and power,
she will not start up. I pressed the button in the back of the case
(rear right), as well as trying to start her from the keyboard.
Nothing. Dead. Like no electricity is getting to her.

The power strip is fine, I can use the monitor on another Mac. Other
stuff (lamp and another mac) run from the power strip.

I have a volt ohm meter, but I am not sure what to look for. With the
case open, everything looks OK and it was until I pulled the hard
drive out of her 10 years ago. I see a lamp on the front of the power
supply, and it is out. When the monitor is plugged into power from the
back of the IIfx, the monitor is dead.

I can not even figure out how to pull the power supply to try to check
it. I am guessing that is where I should start.

Can someone give me a few pointers, or maybe point me to a web site
for troubling shooting a IIfx? I really love this machine.

Thanks in advance.

jack
