I have a chip programmer which can read and write GALs but if the
security bit on the GAL is set, the contents won't be readable and the
only option is to suss out the logic the hard way. Additionally,
unless the thing is socketed, it would have to be desoldered from the
logic board first, so it's not a trivial project. But, when you get
back to the thing, depending on it's disposition and how you feel
about it, it's a project you might consider allowing. I think Teo is
much more motivated on this topic than I am, though.
