The second edition "Guide To The Macintosh Family Hardware" covers
through the IIfx as well as the earlier Macs. However, the first
edition "Apple Macintosh Family Hardware Reference" covers through the
SE & Mac II and has more detailed info on the earlier Macs.

It is mostly completely different information than Inside Macintosh.
It details the hardware whereas Inside Macintosh details the software.
However, if all you are looking for is the mouse info, it appears the
information contained in Inside Macintosh duplicates much of what is
in the Family Hardware Reference.

Later volumes of Inside Macintosh covers later Macs, in particular
volume V covers the SE & Mac II and volume VI covers up to System 7.
