Right. You'd need an ethernet-attached printer on your LAN. The trick would be to find one which supports AppleTalk networking, and I don't know if any currently produced models do.
That's not to say that none do; I simply don't know. You may have to buy a used one; I know someone who uses his Power Mac G5 with a circa 1996 Apple LaserWriter 630. The old HP LaserJet 4M/5M/6M/4000/5000 were also built like tanks and are still in regular use, and support AppleTalk printing. Alternatively, I just did a bit of research and it appears I believe TCP/IP based printing is possible in Mac OS 7.6.1, the highest version of Mac OS installable on a IIsi, if you install LaserWriter 8.6, which you can get from here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58307 The trick is to skip the Chooser and instead use Desktop Printer Utility, and select "Printer (LPR)" and then enter its IP address. This probably requires setting an appropriate static IP address on the printer and therefore is not for the faint of heart if you've never done that sort of thing. But it would potentially allow you to print to a "modern" printer. Ivan.
