A computer service outlet?.... You don't take a CRT monitor to a Computer service outlet. All you'll get at a computer repair shop if you bring in anything more than 5 years old is ignorant remarks.
You take it to a TV repair shop(or perhaps someone who services arcade machines). All you have to do is supply a video source that they can test it with and be prepared to pay $50 up front. Just be sure you try to look up a reputable one... It does help to get a hold of service documentation before going in too... Though Apple's monitor service documents are generally pretty skimpy on the finer details. -Matt Sent from my 9 year old PowerMac G4 running Mac OS X 10.5.7.
