Most of your questions I can't answer, but I believe the 630 I have is a SCSI disk, not IDE. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I believe you are limited to 2 GB being recognized, but if you get a 4 GB HD, I think you can divide it into two partitions so that the Mac will think you have two 2 GB HDs. I love the 630, it is a great machine if you run software made for it during its time!
