SCSI ID's can be a pain; HD's are usually set to either 0 or 1. I  
believe ID 7 is reserved for the SCSI controller. You should probably  
make sure that the CD is on ID 2, or something.

Owch. That's crazy. I'm not trying this with my 6100... :)

Was it known to be working? What exactly didn't work about it?  
(Wouldn't open/close, didn't read CD's... etc.)

Try booting it with just the HD plugged in, if you haven't already.

In case you don't know; the flashing question mark just means the  
computer can't find a startup system. (There can be many reasons for  
this, doesn't necessarily mean anything broke.)
