Thanks for your replies. My MAC SE can read the disks of my MAC PLUS, however it cannot launch the program necessary to execute the file into action. In this case its MS Works 1.1 that I need to run my spread sheet files. Any suggestions please?

A Mac SE will read and write Mac Plus files without the need for any special software. Both machines have DS/DD floppy drives (late-model SEs have the 1.44 MB SuperDrive) and a 68000 processor. Even if you have a late-model SE, you should be able to read floppies from the Plus with no trouble (though moving files from a SuperDrive equipped SE *back* to a standard DS/DD drive on a Plus might not work, depending on the media). Assuming both disk drives in both machines are in working order, (something that's not always a given in vintage machines) getting an SE to read a floppy from a Plus shouldn't be any more complex than taking the floppy out of the Plus' drive and inserting it into that of the SE. (Perhaps there's another dimension to what you're trying to do that I'm overlooking?) Best, James Fraser -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
