Is this the right list to be posting about this...? I would assume so, but if I

Well, today I had a sudden urge to try out Sheepshaver and/or Ballistic, I've
heard people talk about it on the lists now and again, so I went to the
sheepshaver site... and found that I have absolutely no idea how to download
it... What is CVS? I tried copying it into the URL bar, and I also tried
running it in Terminal. What do you have to do to download it? The link to the
supposed OSX version of Ballistic II is broken.
Is there an easy way to just download the app? Or does it always involve
compiling? I'm not much of a programmer... so I don't know anything about
compiling programs.

This list is really mostly about real Macs. Some of us have used the emulators but trying to get it running isn't really in the scope of the list. In addition there are some potential legal issues involving ROMs and Mac OS licensing that can get kind of hairy.

That said, you might try the build talked about at http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5537 . The download seems to work. Your best bet is to read the docs like crazy. There are also some forums (such as that one) devoted to it that would probably be more help than here.
