I think the hardest part, at least for me, is finding ROMs. Unless you
own the actual machines or you are a active participant in the right
communities, finding these ROMs can be tricky--but they're out there.
Once you find the ROMs it's pretty straight forward and it's very nice
to have. I especially enjoy being able to use Sheepshaver as a
supplement to the lack of Apple's Classic support on my Intel mac.
Just be careful what you run in Sheepshaver, for some reason whenever
I open Mac OS 9's scrapbook application and try to change pages it
causes the OS to bomb and Sheepshaver to consequently crash haha. But
other then that, I am able to enjoy things like playing Kidpix or
SimCity 2000 or using HyperStudio just fine without trouble in
Sheepshaver. Hope you get things up and running, although the
beginning can be a bit hairy the pay off is well worth it. :)
