I haven't used a IIfx, but I do know that many problems arise when the SCSI terminator is bad. If that's the problem, you have to locate a proper terminator because an industry standard SCSI terminator won't do the job in a IIfx. A lot of people end up retiring their IIfx's as museum pieces because they can't get a terminator. There weren't a lot of them made in the first place and those that still exist are either in active service or being held in someone's parts box for the day when the one they are using stops functioning. You won't find one without a lot of searching and spending a lot of money for it.
