1. Is it possible to install a network card in a Classic II?
2. Will the network card in my Performa 6400 work in the Classic II?

Classic II has no native internal expansion slot support (FPU/ROM slot notwithstanding). The only option for directly connected Ethernet will be a SCSI->Ethernet adapter. You can also tunnel TCP/IP over the Localtalk, but it's a pain and requires an intermediate Mac.

So, the good news is, there's no need to open the case unless you want to add RAM (up to 10mb) or a different HD. It's not a great Mac for expansion, though it is a 68030 and does support Color Quickdraw (for all the good it does on the 1 bit screen). So it's still reasonably useful as far as the 10 meg RAM limit allows.

There's a nice article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_Classic_II about it.
