Since it's the only device then it should be terminated. "1" would be the most likely setting to activate termination. But some people seem to revel in making things confusing.

Also the device has 2 identicle SCSI ports on it, I assume so you can
daisy chain another SCSI device. I'm not doing this so does it matter
which port I use?

The ports should be the same so it doesn't matter.
