Here's the information you need to build an adapter.

Brilliant! That's the information I needed. Thanks.
You have to use the sense pins, otherwise the Mac won't output video because it
won't be able to sense the monitor is plugged in.
At least with the Quadra you don't have to deal with synch on green. Griffin
used to make an adapter that was adjustable to make any modern monitor work
with any Mac that used the big connector, but the price for such versatility
was over $40.
Ok, will advise when I'm ready for the next step.
One source for the Mac end connector is a PC joystick Y cable, if you can find
one that has snap or screw together connector hoods instead of molded
connectors.
One thing to NEVER do is plug a Mac monitor into a PC joystick port, or a PC
joystick into a Mac's monitor port. IMHO that was a less-than-smart choice of
connector when PCs had been using it for joysticks for several years before the
Mac II came along.
Between my j^Hu^Hn^Hk^H spare parts drawer and a little scrounging, I
should be able find
the raw materials I need.
Thanks, Larry
