How feasible is it to get USB on older macs? I know most of the later PowerPCs could do it, what about the early ones or 68K machines? Mostly in reference to memory stick drives to I can transfer data.
There was a lot of discussion about this on the 1st Powermacs list when USB first came out. None of the 3rd party hardware companies were willing to put in the time & money to develop a NuBus USB card. Apple wasn't about to develop a NuBus card either, if they could get folks to buy a new iMac, or Blue & White.
Back-support is more & more a "Thing of the Past." It's a shame! I'd love to put USB ports in my IIci, or be able to run OS 8.6 on a GHz+ machine... Just think how some of those old programs that were a bit sluggish on a 60MHz 6100 would SCREAM on a GHz+ G4.
