Thanks > > System 6 can't access partitions larger than 2 gigabytes. You'll get this error on a System 6 Macintosh client trying to access a server with a shared volume larger than 2 gigs. I'm willing to bet the drive you have shared on the G3 is over 2 gigs. The only solution is.... to repartition the hard drive on the G3 so there is at least one partition 2GB or smaller and share that volume, or use a piece of removable medium (like a ZIP-100 disk) that is < 2 GB and share it instead. It's really a pretty inconvenient limitation in today's day and age, IMO. The GS version of System 6 doesn't have this limitation, however, which is why you're able to access the server no problem from there.
