Dear Vintage Mac Group,

When I took a few computer graphics classes back in 1993,I purchased a
Mac Quadra 840 AV with monitor, scanner, printer, and software (a very
expensive complete package).

Unfortunately I haven't used it very much over the years, and a couple
of times I even had to pound on the side to get the hard drive unstuck
and to start working again, which it always did.

However, the last time I tried to use it I could hear the computer
start up but the monitor wouldn't come on, so a friend from work gave
me another monitor, that was definitely working, to try but it also
wouldn't come on.

My question is, what could possibly be wrong and could it be fixed?
I'm not a computer guru by any means, so I'm wondering is there
something that can be checked and/or replaced that will fix the
connection between computer and monitor?

Please let me know what I can do, you can send emails to
[email protected]

Thank you very much,

Sounds like a dead PRAM battery.
