One way to improve performance on the built in SCSI is with software RAID 0
striping. FWB Hard Disk Toolkit could do it. Apple had their own software RAID
but I think it was PPC only. It works best when all the drives are identical.
One slow drive can drag the whole array down to its speed. I was able to get a
4 drive aray doing a solid 5 megabyte/second on the internal SCSI on a Radius
81/110 - after replacing the one drive that couldn't top 1 meg/sec by itself.
