Hi I have MAC se FDHD currently running System 7.5.3. I also have a Power MAc running OS8
Here is what I am trying to do. I want the Mac Se to talk to the PowerMac using local talk. I have a 8 Din printer cable connecting the two together via their printer ports. I have the POWER MAc OS8 connected to the internet via the eathernet port. I want to run IPNETrouter on the OS8 machine and get the MAC SE online. Problems Can I network the two machines together just using the DIN 8 printer cable ? I can share files between the two machines using appleshare. i.e. I can see the Hard drives of each machine and move files between the two. Does this mean that local talk is working? How can I tell if local talk is working. What configurations do I need to make on each machine . Is it possible to do this using the above mentioned equipment and IPNETROUTER. I guess the first thing I need to do is ensure localtalk is active. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
