Hello My Mac Classic II started showing a check-a-board display on startup then nothing, it then displayed vertical stripes then nothing, this has been happening for many months. However, yesterday I powered it up and got a check-a-board pattern then it booted with a smile and all seems well?
What was wrong or what needs fixing or replacing in your opinion, or what should I test? I have read about washing the motherboard in a dishwasher and also replacing the cap's which I could do this myself. What cap's do I need (spec etc), where can I buy them, what is the best place to source them online, and what quantity should I order including spares? Is a wiring diagram or photo images available online? I also have a 'mint' Macintosh SE 30, however, I don't have the software to load as I bought it without any discs. I live in the UK and can provide brand new discs (never used sealed in a box) I was wondering if someone could copy the software for it I'm happy to pay as I would really like to get both Mac's working? 5-amp -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
