I am also running a 16/600 Apple LaserWriter, although I'm printing from newer
systems (10.5.8 and 10.8.4). I made an interesting discovery, that you can
telnet to the default IP address (found by sending ping to 255.255.255.255 or
an "arp -a" command if you have a router) and do many print setup functions.
Banner that appears when connecting looks like this:

4. Specify Printer IP Address

7. Enable or Disable TCP/IP Connection Timeout Checking
8. Change Password for This Utility
9. Reset TCP/IP Interface
10. Restore TCP/IP Interface to Factory Defaults
To select an option, type its number (1-10) and press Enter.
To exit this utility, press Enter.
