1. Unfortunately, yes, you do have to take the back off. All you should need 
for that is a 5" or longer T-15 Torx. Once you've got it open, the logic 
board is at the bottom and slips right out, the same way as a Color Classic, 
so you don't have to worry about any of the monitor stuff. It's sorta neat, 
I've seen PCI cards bigger than the thing.

2. The holes under that panel are for adjusting the monitor and maybe 
something else also.
