Unfortunately, that is true of most ISPs, ignorance = we don't support.
Call them up and tell them you are running Linux or BSD, and ask for
support.  You'll probably get cut off.

Knowledgable Mac folks are hard to find occupying low level helpdesks.. we
are smart enough to hold out for more money.  ;-)
