I used an LCIII headless for awhile has a server. I honestly can't remember if I stuck an adapter on it to boot it or not. I'll have to try it. I do know that the 475 will boot without a monitor, though I seem to recall that plugging in one later would limit it to 640x480 because it didn't have the ability to sense the max res.
