I think I have one of those cosmic ironies on hand. I wanted a Color
Classic to try and turn into a Takky. Was given one that clearly had been
messed around with. Wouldn't boot as it said OS 7.1 would not run on this
system. Won't boot from a 7.5 boot disk as it gets a bus error. (This may
be the keyboard connection, as I had a few times when it wouldn't boot
without unplugging the keyboard.)

So, I set up all the 7.5.3 disks, made a new boot disk and decided to try
again. Same thing, only it didn't like the boot disk (said to use Disk
Tools 2 instead). So I pulled out an LC520 motherboard & tried that. Was
able to boot from the disk, and copy the system folder over from that to
fix the hard drive. It will boot on its own with this board in place.
Tried to install 7.5.3 and it choked. "What the hell is this?" the
installer asked. So I am assuming that I will probably need to hack a bit
with I Wish I Were and possibly install 7.6.

The board I took out? It's an LC575 from the looks of the boards on the
link from Gamba's site. I don't know if this board is useable or not.
I'll read up on this, but I am assuming that this is a hardware issue and
may not be fixable?

Any opinions/ideas would be welcomed. I'll continue to read up on this and
plot my next move. It runs nicely with the 520 MO but the OS is so
stripped down that it really needs to be reinstalled.
