A recent estimate put the number of pirate
installations of Windows in Vietnam at 90%. It was
considered an indicator for Southeast Asia as a whole.
At one time, Hong Kong was the pirate capital of
publishing churning out US best sellers without one
whit of royalties. Technically, it isn't illegal if the
country where the alleged piracy takes place is not a
signatory of international copyright laws. Maybe we
should declare ourselves a digital republic and not
sign anything . . .
